World Heritage Tour – Kayaking & Elephant Ride

This tour combines our classic sightseeing program around Luang Prabang with adventurous activities like kayaking and riding an elephant. Luang Prabang is the charming former capital of Laos and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is full of old French colonial architecture and impressive Budhist temples to inspire the mind.

The body is provided for with a kayaking trip and an elephant ride at Tad Sae waterfall. On top of that there is a boat cruise on the mighty Mekong River, a visit to the famous Pak Ou Budha Caves and a stop at two local villages, to sample the self made rice wine and textiles.






Day 1

Discover World Heritage & Temple Sites

Welcome to Luang Prabang! Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and transfer to the hotel.
After a break, visit National museum, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai; visit Wat Xieng Thong, we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Market, where you can find the lovely collection of handicrafts and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2

Kayaking – Elephant Ride

After breakfast, we drive out of town to Ban Ann pier, where we start Kayaking along Kharn river about 4-5 hours to Kaeng Noon. En route, short stop at Tadsae Water Fall, where the most beautiful Water Fall during rainy season between Jul-Oct. You can take a swim, enjoy elephant ride before we continue Kayaking to Kaeng Noon. We can have lunch at Tadsae Fall or enjoy picnic lunch en route. Arrive in Kaeng Noon, transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3

Mekong River Boat Experience – Pak Ou Buddha Caves

After breakfast, we enjoy a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside. Our destination are the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they distill local rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong, well known for its hand weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
