On the other side of the river lies Ban Xieng Maen, where we start trekking through the Chom Phet district. The path follows the Mekong, offering you a new interesting perspective of Luang Prabang, which lies on the other side of the river. We pass Siew temple, Chom Phet temple and Long Koon temple, where King Sakkalin sought shelter, when the Chinese sailed down the Mekong. We make our way through thick vegetation, climbing up Phou Phi Saf Mountain, where some interesting Buddha statues and beautiful panoramic view await us.
