We follow this with a visit to the old and new parts of the town featuring the great diversity. After breakfast we drive to north – East of Chiang Mai route to Mae Taman Elephant Camp, The idea of this trip is to see the demonstration of how trained elephants are used as working animals in teak forests includes elephant bathing in the river, working in the jungle, dragging and pushing logs, and responding commands. Then, visit Orchid Nursery to see a large collection of more than 50 different types of colorful exotic year-round-bloom orchids. After taking great pleasure at the Orchid Nursery, return to the hotel and free at leisure. (B/L)Day 04: Chiang Mai – Departure

An early morning we travel by car northbound to Mae Taman Elephant training center to see elephant training shows. Then we followed by riding on the elephant – ox cart riding return to the camp. Buffet lunch at the camp. Afternoon, visit Wat Tham Tub Tao in Chiang Dao before continue onto the sleepy riverside town of Thaton on the banks of Mae Kok River. We drive along winding road to a sleeping town of Tha Ton passing by the breathtaking mountain scenery make for an interesting day. Upon arrival at Thaton on the banks of Mae Kok River, we will visit Tha ton temple, located on the hill, from here you can see the view over the town. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. After breakfast we will drive along the borderline After breakfast, we continue drive to visit Akha and Padong long necked, the hill tribe villages before continue to drive up mountain to Maesai the northern most of Thailand.We’ll continue drive to visit the Royal Palace and Botanic Garden at Doi Tung, Doi Tung is the site of a major environmental and socio-economic development project initiated by Her Royal Highness Srinakarindra the Princess Mother; mother of His Majesty the King of Thailand. You can spend the time to stroll around at the beautiful gardens. Then continue a famous Golden Triangle in which powerful warlords have fought for control the opium trade. We lunch at a local restaurant before visit the royal capital of the ancient Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Saen is nestled on the Mekong riverbank which is now the border between Thailand and Laos. The first structure was constructed around 200 year ago by the Shan people whilst Wat Jong Klang houses an old glass painting and many wood carvings which depict the various lives of Buddha. Start in the early morning to visit the morning market area, where you can buy, apart from the usual household items and foodstuffs, an array of insect food such as crickets, worms and ant eggs. After bereakfast, we will excursion to the Karen hill tribe village of Baan Nai Soi, near by is Padong hilltribe village. This ethnic group still retains their old age cultural traditions as most of women attempt to have long neck by wearing numerous brass rings around their neck from an early age. We drive to the pier for you to enjoy a long tail boat for a leisurely trip downstream along Pai River which also provides us a taste of the tranquil countryside and an interesting view of rural life close up. Upon arrival we visit the Opium Hall Museum.The museum focuses on opium, opiates, narcotics and drug eradication measures through ‘edutainment’ displays. The first part of the exhibition details the 5000-year history of opium from its first known appearance in early Egypt, through the 19th century’s opium wars, to the 20th century’s production and trafficking in South East Asia. The second half shows the effects of drugs on the mind and body, describing strategies employed throughout the world to control drugs, international cooperation, and efforts in dealing with drug addiction.
